The dining room: My floor scraping activities are going well. A bit hard on the hands, but there you go.
The chandelier arrived and I couldn’t be more pleased. The size is perfect. It’s big and really gives the room a bit more personality. Once I choose a fabric for the curtains I’ll wrap it’s chain with the cut-offs. I’m still unsure of colours. I think first I want to choose a mirror for the room and have everything more or less in place before making a final decision.
The wood floor really is gorgeous

Your hard work has produced fabulous results, I love the floor. If your hands are rough, mix some coarse sugar or salt with some oil & rub into your poor hands, leave for a while then rinse off under warm water. (it worls well all over the body too, & you can use scented oil ) Should leave them super soft….until the next scraping session. š xx

I definitely try that next week. For now I think they’d better stay rough until I finish š

Wow – you’ve done so much Pinky! And what a lovely, light room.

I’m way ahead of schedule! Which is great because I can go back over each individual plank one by one with the scrubby in the coming weeks š That means we won’t need to have the parquet sanded- which in turn means it’ll have the same aged looked as in the other rooms.

That is good news. Nothing beats that patina of genuine age. You really are restoring this house from the floors up.
