Usually I don’t read posts without some indication of what the post it about, but for you I made an exception. The flower … meh … the man’s face (Your partner?) … exquisite.

I thought that might be you; the vacant, disdainful stare… (jk)

Hydrangeas – don’t eat the petals!
I see you gave up tinting your hair too. The regrowth is a pain isn’t it?
🙂

I have never tinted my hair! It’s been grey for ages, and now it’s really turned the corner to majority rule – but it still looks dark if there’s gel in it ☺

Millions wouldn’t, but I believe you.

The sides were already grey in my gravatar pic (which was taken in Spain in the year we left, mid 2014!) By 2018 (my 40th birthday) it was already more grey than not, and now at 41, well, you can see it 🙂

Amazingly beautiful hydrageas!

You blend in nicely amongst those beautiful hydrangeas. I, unfortunately, in order to blend in as well, would need to stand next to a pile of very old, very used gym shoes with torn laces and splintered soles. 🙂

You take self depricating humour to new heights 😁

That’s a great photo, of you and the hydrangeas. How tall is the shrub? It must be enormous, or are you sitting down?
LikeLiked by 2 people
It is huge, but it’s also raised from the ground adding an extra 1 metre of height. In picture one I’m sitting on a stool on the steps, and in the other I’m standing 😊

Your nose appears to be meandering across your face like a grazing dugong. Nice shirt, though.

It’s the same nose as in all the other pictures 😛

Like I said, nice shirt 🙂

I broke it as a child. This is after surgery, so imagine what that was like 😲

Hahahahahaha, that’s just the type of comment Mr Pink would leave. Nicely done sir, though I’m very keen on anonymole’s ‘disdainful stare’ for that is true though I feel there is some wistfulness there too, all perfectly captured. You look marvellous grey sir, I think they’re cracking portraits. I see a count disguised as the gardener at a hugely wealthy home out to take revenge upon the fools who dared scorn him, in which case we all best scarper quick, hahahaha.
Lovely to see you dearie. x

Somehow I missed this comment – but now that I’ve found it I love it! 😀 Do you mean this count: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYvhB00Pu7o

Have you put nails in the soil around the hydrangeas to make them blue work? It really works. By the way, the grey suits you😀

Thanks! I don’t have the energy or dedication for regular cosmetics use, so I never even considered dyeing it.
I used colorant on the hydrangeas a couple of years ago, but I found the result a bit harsh. How intense is the effect with nails?

I think non-stainless steel nails which rust work the best. It’s the iron.

I’ll try on a smaller plant first to test the effect. I very much regretted the colorant. The flowers were all uneven in colour.

Don’t I get a prize, then, for locating the title’s reference; you know, a cookery book, or something?

I tried to send you one from Amazon but they wanted a phone number, remember?

It ended up with a sort of Frida Kahlo air to the composition, a bit like her portrait with Bonito, the parrot 🙂

Just wait til next year! As all the big work inside the house is done, much of my attention will be geared to cleaning up the forgotten parts of the garden.

Enjoy indian summer there.
