Number 42: Upstairs Landing Update

The bedrooms side of the landing is now painted. Scaffolding will be needed for the stairs side. The Baudson Wisteria mirror (from the charity shop) has a new glass and is up and an early 19th century Spanish console table has been painted to match it. The cut glass colonial lanterns are Indian and create fantastic shadows on the walls (which is why we bought more of them.) I’m thinking of perhaps adding some porcelain botanical plates on giltwood brackets or some small paintings here and there to break the absolute symmetry a bit. The rug is Persian, from my usual German dealer who offers really exceptional prices. The animal engravings between the doors (Leopard & Greyhound) are 17th century, by Roelant Savery.
