We’re halfway there. The tub is in place, the shower cubicle is being tiled, the cabinet thingy arrived, the loo is installed (and it works, which is always a good thing.)

Thanks 😀 Mike said it was utter insanity to attempt that effect on cast iron. And he was right!

When Pink’s post popped up in my email I thought the same thing … and rushed over.
I can’t help it. It’s the way I was ”drug up”.

Which bathroom is this? In No. 42 or one of the appartments?

no. 42, for the southwest bedroom. I’m not giving roll top bathtubs to people in the apartments! 😛

lmao – I wouldn’t have thought so but I assumed the bathrooms in no. 42 were all finished. :p Guest bathroom? And how many do you have??

You are a man of rare talents! That tub looks fantastic. I’ve never seen anything like it. Shame that it will be hidden behind closed doors.

The bath is gorgeous, it reminds me of the Art Deco bathroom at Upton House (National Trust). What did you use for the silvering?

Now I have to look up Upton House!
I tried paint for the silvering at first and that didn’t work at all. Terribly dull. So then I tried sterling silver leaf, which was too bright (made it look white). Then I tried aluminium leaf, which with a black wash came out a deep silver colour- and that was what I wanted 🙂

I aluminium leaf was used in Upton House. You have lots of patience, but it’s worth all your hard work.

A “cabinet thingy” is called a “vanity” here in the U.S. which is entirely appropriate … a hammered silver finish tub … oh, my. (Actually, it is gorgeous, I am just jealous.)
