Little- thinking

crash

When I was little I sometimes wished an aeroplane would crash. This was generally to get rid of a single person- which makes it terribly inefficient methodologically. Wishing for choking would’ve been a better option.

Wait a minute, you caused that, with just the power of thought? I’m impressed! 🙂

I would often pray for Armageddon of a Sunday just to avoid Geography on a Monday!

There are many times I have wanted that to happen. Never thought of the inefficiency of the method

I used to not so much wish but thought it would cool if I saw one up close in a crash. Also not very efficient but I was a child & I’m convinced most children go through a sociopathic stage.

    • So you mean it should have passed by now? 😀

It doesn’t seem like you’re a sociopath from what I’ve read on this blog. You often write about topics that would only concern someone that cares about people.
A sociopath wouldn’t have written a post named “Ich bin ein Berliner” after a terrorist attack for instance. So I don’t think you have to worry. 🙂

I can’t say I tend to imagine plane crashes often, but when my mind gets stuck on something, I prefer to think about explosions.
My OCD gives me a tendency to get caught in a repetive pattern of images and sentences (especially if I’m emotionally provoked in some way), and if I get stuck on a person’s face or voice, I imagine them and myself in an exploding building.
It’s just a mental aid to me.

I find explosions boring in movies and the like, but they’re an effective way to tell your mind to get past something.
It might be that imagining violent events serves the same function in kids (meaning it’s an expression of a hangup in the mind, not an expression of hatred or sociopathy) , with neurotics like me unable to develop our brains past that point (neurotics have a smaller corpus callosum I’ve heard, but I don’t know the exact effect that would give).

      • Explosions are actually my first choice. And yes, it’s like rebooting the system 🙂 I think my biggest issue is I’m constantly checking and rechecking models and probabilities. Humans watch television and see situations, when I watch I (mostly) see formulas. That undermines interactions.

Sometimes I wish it hadn’t. Sociopaths live long, worry free lives.

Well, I’m not sure I wanted an airplane crash, even to get rid of a diabolical person who shall remain unnamed, but a tidal wave, earthquake, hurricane – I wanted to witness such an event, close-up and personal. There’s a part of me that still does. It’s like standing before the Great Goddess, herself. Other than the fact I know many would be devastated, of course.

    • Coincidently I was on the North Shore once during the late 80’s when there was a Tsunami alert! Everyone went up to Pupukea- but the “wave” never happened 🙂

They almost never do here. If we have one, it’s very small and doesn’t usually do any damage. The volcano, on the other hand … haha. Well. 😉 On another note, we were geographically close at that time, you and I. Chris and I were on Moloka’i in the late ’80’s and went to O’ahu a time or two. Strange passings, sliding doors … Aloha.

North shore waves are the best especially near Xmas. I have been there twice during that time & last time I went, the authorities were considering evacuating the people living near the beach on North Shore.
