Building II, Apartment 5

We’re speeding this along because the tenants want to move in on Saturday. A newlywed couple. He’s in the military- got transferred here and they weren’t finding it easy to find somewhere decent within budget. He gives the impression he really wants his wife to be pleased. That’s always nice. Speaking of budgets, we’ve gone a bit over budget on this one, but it’ll still be possible to keep the rent at roughly 1/3rd of the French minimum wage per month (+€15, to be precise.) That was our aim. It’s got a living room with a kitchen wall at one end (built-in fridge/freezer), a large bedroom, a small bedroom, a bathroom and a utility room that’s big enough for a washer/dryer. And don’t worry- there is a railing outside of the window by the kitchen, and it’s already been put back in place- so people won’t just fall two stories to their deaths.

I’m pleased. I love the effect on the floorboards. A grey tint that goes under the varnish, so you still see the grain of the wood. I like that the bath is sort of hidden behind a wall, that was Mike’s idea. I think in all it’s a decent apartment that works for a young couple. They seem excited to move in. And the view’s not too bad.

A super job; I’m sure the occupants will be delighted. Are they free to adorn the walls with art as they wish?

It’s lovely, Pinky. Elegant and restful. I think I still like that oddly shaped apartment best but they are all fantastic for rentals. It’s not often decently priced housing also looks and feels like the kind of place you could turn into a home. Bravo!

Very nice, and I love the bath being in its own private corner.

lovely, and so nice to have room for a washer/dryer. I’ve always hated going to laundromats.

    • Me too! That’s why it was a non-negotiable point for me. Every apartment had to have a cupboard for a washer dryer. Also heated towel rails in the bathrooms 😀

hah! oh, you have a heated towel rack. We were lucky to have a hedgehog to hold our towels… 🙂

I just use the little steam radiator we have 😉
