Slowly but surely. Apartment 3 (2 bed/2 bath)

It’s taken longer than we hoped… but we’re there. The rooms were a bit fiddly in this one- very few right angles. In all I’m happy. Mike deserves a ton of credit for this one because my contribution was basically just the floorplan. He chose almost everything else.

It’s come out better than I expected. Big windows, bright rooms, it’s even reasonably stylish. I mean you wouldn’t be embarrassed of inviting friends over. The living room/kitchen is on the small side, but that was the price that had to be paid for giving each of the bedrooms its own shower-room. I’m also pleased with the new entrance hall (picture 2). That used to be just wasted communal space outside this apartment’s entrance door. Now the tenant can put a piece of furniture there, a cupboard a coat rack… whatever they like.

Now we’re approaching the more interesting side of the project which is the three larger apartments. The two on the top floor and then the ground floor garden flat. We still haven’t made a decision on whether to keep or sell the ground floor flat to recover what we’ve invested in the building. I think we’ll wait until it’s all done then get a valuation and depending on how that goes we’ll make up our minds.
