Orlando Shooter’s Father Says Omar Mateen Was Angry Over Two Men Kissing – Towleroad

Omar Mateen copy

Mir Seddique, Mateen’s father told NBC News, “this has nothing to do with religion.” Seddique said his son got angry when he saw two men kissing in Miami a couple of months ago and thinks that may be related to the shooting. “We are saying we are apologizing for the whole incident. We weren’t aware of any action he is taking. We are in shock like the whole country,” Seddique said.

One of the reasons Omar was angry over two men kissing is that he’s been brainwashed by RELIGION, specifically ISLAM, to hate gays. Both the Qu’ran and the Hadith say that homosexuality is a sin and homosexuality is a crime under Sharia punishable by death.

hmmm, and why was he angry? his religion said that he should be and he would be rewarded for obeying the commands of the religion’s god. It’s amazing how theists will do all sorts of gymnastics to avoid admitting that their religion is the cause of their actions when those actions are seen to be horrible by the rest of the world. If the book says to help the poor, they’ll point to it and say how wonderful it is and how it is the root of their morality. If it says kill someone, they’ll insist that the book isn’t the source of their actions at all.

    how convenient.

Gays are executed in Islamic countries.

Good frair Omar was just adhering to Sharia Law when he slaughtered 50 homosexuals in Orlando, Florida last night.

But hey, Donald Trump and the Christians are the real problem because we know them like the back of our hand.

    • Can you tell us how many Muslim countries apply Sharia law? And in what way?

As someone who has been in the ME, and is half Arabic I will attempt to answer.

Sharia Law is followed by all practicing Muslims to some degree. Islam is a totalitarian system that controls everything from diet to marriage to times of prayer. It is a political ideology with a religious component. It controls civil matters like contracts and criminal matters like cheating on your spouse.

When a country adopts Sharia as its actual law system, the laws are based on the Qu’ran or Hadith (Mohammad’s own take on the Qu’ran.) Each Islamic country’s laws are slightly different, but still variations on a theme. Take the Honor Killing laws, in instance. With the HK laws the standard is that a men can kill his wife or female relative—for whatever reason—and receive little or no punishment. In Pakistan, the man has to pay a fine. In other countries, like I think Palestine, it would be a couple months in jail.

In other words, Sharia is always applied by Muslims, it just depends on to what extent they are dominated by the laws of the country they are in. The only reason Muslims don’t practice HK or stoning for adultery here is because of our secular laws. Let them become the majority and all that would change.

        Pink,

Yes, in regards to Turkey, but it’s unique, the only secular state with a Muslim majority. (Also, Prime Minister Erdogan apparently plans to make it full Sharia.) It’s also not “free” like we think of America. For instance, there are restrictions on schooling, like there can’t be private schools., and the state controlled public schooling is meant to benefit only the Islamic community.

Once a country gets a certain population of Muslim to non-Muslim, the Muslims take over and force Sharia on everyone. That’s a basic tenet of Islam: the world must submit to Allah. That is why Islam is a threat to any free society.

      • But isn’t that really a question of separating church and state? In France we have approx. 6.5 million people who descend from Muslim families, but only 20% of them even go to mosque. That means the majority aren’t really that bothered by religion…

        Pink,

Islam is Sharia, and Sharia is Islam. As soon as there is a majority of Muslims in a country, it goes Islamic with Sharia Law becoming the law of the land. (Turkey being the only exception). According to the Qu’ran there is no man-made law above Sharia Law.

In Pew research polls, the majority of Muslims worldwide said they would prefer to live under Sharia. This seems to be the opposite of what you’re suggesting, that most Muslims in France don’t even go to mosque, and therefore aren’t very religious. I don’t know if Sharia commands one to go to mosque, only to pray. The number of Muslims going to a mosque may not in an indicator of their level of devotion is my point. Do they pray five times a day would be a more telling indicator, or how they feel about stoning for adultery or drawings of Mohammad. Those are the questions to ask to ascertain devotion to Islam.

Of course, there are Muslims who aren’t interested in jihad or taking over the world, but those are “Jack Muslims”. They are not devout. The truly devout, the ones who follow the Qu’ran, like the Saudis, or ISIS believe the entire world should submit to Allah and it should be death for adultery, homosexuality, blasphemy and apostasy.

      • The number who say they’re practicing believers in France (counting all those whose families come from Muslim countries) are only 33%. I see that as meaning that if given the chance, most will abandon religion. The problem is they don’t really have that choice in theocratic dictatorships that indoctrinate people like Iran or Saudi Arabia.

I’m glad you liked my comment, SOM. Now, what am I supposedly hallucinating, SOM? Something in your bible like this: “13 “‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”?

are you trying to claim that this isn’t in your bible?

Since I can quote the bible, it’s not a hallucination, SOM. But if you wish to lie about your own holy book, I’m more than happy to watch you. Again, SOM, your god commands that homosexuals be murdered. Please tell us why you do not follow this command.

The whole issue of Sharia law in different states is quite complicated.

Sharia Courts exist in the UK and already accepted under UK law that allows for arbitration by religious organisations. Sharia courts cannot overrule regular courts but they are recognised under the Arbitration Act of 1996, which allows for non-legal religious bodies.

They can only function with regard to arbitration – they cannot implement other aspects of Sharia Law.

But in practice there have been criticisms about the way they operate. See:http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/sharia-in-the-uk-the-courts-in-the-shadow-of-british-law-offering-rough-justice-for-muslim-women-a6761221.html

There’s an excellent summary here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2014/02/24/here-are-the-10-countries-where-homosexuality-may-be-punished-by-death/

Homosexual acts are legal in some countries like Indonesia, and illegal in Malaysia (but not punishable by death).

If religion kills why aren’t the members of your former Christian church storming the local gay bars?

I believe it was Uganda that passed a law, using Christian values as the basis, that said homosexuals were to be put to death, before reducing the sentence to a lengthy prison term. This was only a few years ago.

I have heard that at least some Muslm men in societies where they are excessively isolated from women, have learned to do a literal circle jerk, and, in this way, are relieved of sexual tension while simultaneously denying any homosexuality.

A college history teacher, describing the British attitude in the Middle East leading up to the 1948 re-establishment of Israel, said the Brits were cow-towed and sucked up to by the Arabs, according to their cultural style, while the Jews with European education, acculturation, and real lives at stake, spoke directly and didn’t offer (homosexual) sex.

Christopher Hitchens, himself, was reported to have said or written something about “experimentation” being a natural thing in those boarding schools that he and so many other British boys attended.

I wonder whether that plausibly-denied, cognitively dissonant, not-but-is-homosexuality led to an experience in the terrorist-murderer’s past for which he wanted revenge.

He must have been one sick puppy.

A snarky idea: What if someone took those happy looking selfies of the shooter, photoshopped a homosexual lover in (especially, say, the late Jihadi John!), and posted them on a FaceBook page made just for that? It could be called, “ISIS in LOVE!”
