Starting the tomatoes early this year was a good idea. Some of the Russian ones are already at about an inch in diameter.
I’ve been tidying up the greenhouse.
The peonies are starting to open
The big hydrangea by the kitchen door is dripping in buds
and the weather today is fan-tastic
… and the girls who spent all their summers with us in Spain (the last seven, anyway) are coming to number 42 for August! We’re thrilled! They’re the best guests of all time. They don’t need to be entertained, which is great and the dogs love them. Here’s one of them with Morgan:
Lovely.

Peonies are among my top five flower loves. (esme may be repeating myself here, and likely enough shall do again as she has a crumbling mind these days so bear with her), My tomatoes are only as far as a few flowers at present, the weather in the UK has been all over the show and I’ve no idea if I’ll end up neck high in them, or bereft. I only grow small ones, (chocolate cherry are particularly nice), but lots of them. Home grown tommys taste fantastic. *nods*.
I envy the girls, not just for the glorious house and garden, but for Morgan too. What a sweetheart.

I can’t wait to see the facade once it is repainted and the shutters painted again.
How are the apartments coming? Are they all completely done? I am interested to know if the tenant bought a small refrigerator for under the counter top, or a free standing one.
