Cardinal George Pell dismissed complaints about pedophile priest as being of ‘not much interest’

“Cardinal Pell continued to deny knowledge of Ridsdale having molested children, despite attending meetings agreeing to move him numerous times, and the widespread nature of complaints about the pedophile’s activities in the Victorian parish of Inglewood in 1975. “I didn’t know whether it was common knowledge or whether it wasn’t, it was a sad story and it wasn’t of much interest to me,” Cardinal Pell said.”

I hear he is unable to fly to face trial because of frailty but his older sister flew to see him in the Vatican. These religious people are strange.

This man infuriates me… and he’s there, hiding out in the Vatican. Coward.

Been watching/listening to Pell’s evidence and it is teeth grinding. Sometimes he is clearly speaking freely which makes the other times when it is just about ass covering even more obvious. Grrr.

The depth of feeling against him here is quite amazing, as evidenced by how quickly more than $100,000 was raised by public donation to send some of the survivors over there to be present for his evidence. Also helped by the always awesome Tim Minchin and the funds raised by his song Come Home.
The church condemned it saying it would further hurt victims… Uh huh… Guess he hit a nerve, eh?

Typical Catholic Church bullshit over this issue. The Church itself is as sick and twisted as Pell himself is. The dude gets to ride out his latter years in luxury, safe within the Vatican. Infuriating!

This is just more evidence that despite their new charismatic spokesman, they are still the same old reprehensible, morally bankrupt organization they always were. The world needs to turn them into a financially bankrupt organization as well, so we can be rid f them once and for all. Hopefully the rest of these God pushers can then follow suit.

Well of course Cardinal George Pell is hiding out at the Vatican. The Vatican has a long history of hiding and covering up these pedophile priest scandals, and since Cardinal Pell knew about a pedophile priest, the Vatican wants to hide him out & help him be “too frail to fly” to a trial. If Cardinal Pell testifies at a trial, the Vatican will end up paying out MORE in reparations, and they don’t want that.

The attitude seems to be – so long as he is not a paedophile he can play 3 monkeys about those who are. The man is cold to the bone.

I’m glad I renounced my Catholic upbringing as soon as I left childhood. I can’t imagine trying to reconcile genuine faith with Pell’s testimony. ‘Evil’ is the only word that comes to mind.
