And the Darwin Award Goes to…

darwin

Should we laugh or should we cry? Or should we just cross our fingers and hope, really hope this person doesn’t contaminate the gene pool by reproducing?

Let’s just go over some of these ideas:

A) (pro) Trans-activists support males raping lesbians.

Why?

B) Because pro-trans activists deny science and gender roles.

Non, may I introduce you to Sequitur; Sequitur, this is Non.

I’m not even going to go any further because the text is just so convoluted, it doesn’t merit attention. C’mon, seriously. In what world did a gay man who calls himself the Pink Agendist ever say that women are not allowed to have sex with women? Twilight Zone moment.

Just goes to show that in every group there’s a fringe.

    Maybe she meant someone else.
You could be guilty of many things Pink, but in the time I have read your posts or comments have I had the impression you want anyone raped.

My fringe went out once while I was away for a few days. What a stench when I got home. Yuck.

It makes no sense at all. People who support trans women, and presumably trans men, are in favour of women being raped? “Transactivists support men raping women”… Bloody hell. It’s beyond insulting, and as you indicate, swimming merrily in the waters of ignorant bigotry. Whilst people may well insult each other when commenting sometimes, that one line alone appearing upon the cloud would have been deemed by myself as grossly offensive to anyone who supports trans, which I do – not above the rights of women who were born with female genitals, but on a par with them, And much like yourself Mr M, I have never suggested that I think men raping women is a fine thing, because I’m not a nasty nut.

It’s distilled idiocy. Cult-like behaviour- and you know why Roughseas allows it? For the same reason religious and political extremists defend each other no matter what.

Really, no. No, it’s not. You can find this sort of stuff anywhere. Start on the blog Stop Trans Chauvinism and follow some of the reblogs- several each day- to find worse allegations than this. Poe’s law does not work when the people to be satirised have no sense of reality.

A rum cuss, this one…from the standard of the argument presented I would hazard a guess that it is a post grad student in the U.S. A. greasing up for a job in Women’s Studies in a faculty where attitude is all……

This is just plain offensive. Why on earth must anyone hate anyone else simply to feel good about themselves?

It seems to me that one of the biggest incitements the UK Independence Party gives to its supporters is that if we all vote to leave the EU, we will be able to exclude foreigners. Of course we won’t, and I feel the real reasons some on the far right want to leave the EU are other than that, but it is like Mr Trump, garnering support by giving frightened, powerless people someone to hate.

Ah…I see. Yes, it is a very powerful card, and one that has been played many times before – ‘other’, ‘scapegoat’, ‘refugee’. The names change but the us against them continues. 😦

I haven’t known whether to be thrilled or perturbed about you wading into the slimy depths of TERF world Mr Merveilleux. Try Gender Trender if you’re enjoying yourself. You do bring a lightness and sense of humour to the while sorry mess. Sadly, as the parent of a trans child (particularly as the feminist parent of a trans child) I found them and they found me soon enough. Trust me on this: you will never untangle this logic or the lack thereof. You may or may not have a good giggle in the meantime.

I think we have to speak out and do it loudly. We’ve only been able to partly de-stigmatize gays by confronting the lies and propaganda.
We can’t let that happen all over again to another group of people, particularly not one at such high risk of exclusion.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this. Transphobia in Australia got ramped up a couple of notches in the last week, courtesy of some right wing Christian politicians (who are, by and large, much more stupid than the lesbian feminists and thus more satisfying to take on).
My take on this is that it had to happen. Trans rights are attracting more attention and gaining some victories so backlash was inevitable.
But I keep thinking of your point Mr Merveilleux. Generally, the lives of gay people in the West have improved in recent decades. But this is only because of the tireless efforts of many many activists and the refusal of many many more people to shut up and go away.
I just hope that LGBTIQ people hold their ground & continue to stand together. I hope there’s been too much progress for basic human rights to be derailed by right wing Christian nutters and left wing lesbian nutters. They can have one another 🙂

The journey of transgender equality has a very long course to run, sadly.

At least I can understand Germaine Greer’s arguments. Your “concerned observer” seems to have had a logic bypass.

I’m coming to this particular party quite late, but TERFs are a group I’ve encountered before. As a hetrosexual male, I am forbidden from commenting on some of the radfem blogs that discuss transgender individuals (such blogs tend to be quite insular, allowing only that which reinforces their views).
