The temperature’s a lovely 20 degrees, the sun is out- and so we took the dogs for a walk just outside Mazamet. Total peace and quiet. Superb.

Really! How marvelous. Not that I remember this, it was a while back!

It’s one of the few etang where we can take the dogs where there’s no one.

your area looks amazingly like where I live in Central PA at the edge of the Appalachians.

I think PA latitude is very close to ours. And there are more similarities as you have the Appalachians and we have the Montagne Noir 🙂

Looked up the Montagne Noir. Very cool geological area and it does have some interesting similarities to my area. We don’t have a archaic meteor crater near by though 🙂

Beautiful. So envious. 🙂

Really? It’s not as if you live in a concrete jungle! Do you live near Metan? I remember her landscape looked a whole lot like southern Spain.

Yes, we’re not far from each other but the landscape, while beautiful in its own way, is not as /gentle/ as yours. Nor does it change with the seasons, well except from green to brown. I haven’t been to southern Spain so no idea what it looks like. 🙂

The first thing I thought of when I saw these pictures was the walking trail right near my house. 🙂
In fact, most of the photos in the gallery in the Wikipedia entry for it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilydale_to_Warburton_Rail_Trail) are only a short stroll from home. It conveniently runs right against the carpark for the school, we can use it to walk home if we’re not too lazy!

I knew it!!!! 🙂 I remember seeing pictures you put up ages ago and I was astonished at how southern European your landscape seemed.

I’m loving having four seasons again- except for raking leaves!

I don’t envy you that!

That is what leaf blowers are for, people who don’t enjoy raking.

But the noise is even worse than raking! We do have one, but it sits quietly in the garage.
