If you listened to Faust carefully there were some words that stood out. They were telling because they sounded like they were pulled verbatim from this document. That’s a strategy guide by Scott Lively of Abiding Truth Ministries (yes, another one from the Kill the Gays in Uganda crowd) that outlines how Christians should push forward their anti-gay agenda.
Faust’s exact words were:
My. Oh. My. That’ll take some serious acrobatics. Faust, Lively and the rest of the Crazy Christian Crowd want to push their religious version of ‘natural law’ while pretending it’s secular! It’s almost funny.
They’ve been trying to put secular arguments together for decades; only because they know religion doesn’t cut it in the public debate anymore. The problem is people aren’t stupid. The public knows Evangelical Claptrap when they see it. If you google secular arguments against gay marriage you find the same nauseating nonsense again and again. In fact, Katy Faust’s version was ‘invented’ by a man named Michael Bauman a couple of years ago. Here’s how secular he happens to be:
The fact of the matter is their arguments don’t hold up under scrutiny- so they’re left with muddying the waters. In this most recent case of Faust going to Australia, she was visiting a country where lgbt families already exist, lgbt people already have children, and are already allowed to adopt. Legalizing gay marriage doesn’t change that in a single way.

I am so sorry that the main export of the USA today seems to be hate. I wish that was not so. Hugs

I’ve always seen accepting my sexuality as a way of embracing my nature instead of other people’s religions. Being gay is natural.
